Combustion Experiment | Andi Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin Fire Resistance Experiment



 
  Hello everyone,welcome to Andi Advanced Material Research and Testing Laboratory.Today,we will conduct a small experiment,Test the fire resistance,ceramic performance.and environmental characteristics of Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin under flame burning conditions.
 
  Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin is a fireproof and fire-resistant cable material that has the same properties as the insulation and sheath layers of ordinary wires and cables at room temperature,and has good flexibility.After high-temperature combustion,Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin forms a hard ceramic shell,which provides effective fire protection for internal cables and prevents circuit short circuits and breaks.This product has a low specific gravity,good flexibility,and excellent processing performance.The product complies with RoHS and REACH directives.The product is widely used in special cable fields such as fireproof and fire-resistant cables,fire cables,and automotive cables.
 
  Step 1:Sample Preparation
 
 
  Select plastic particles with good mechanical strength and electrical insulation as the substrate.
 
 
  Put plastic pellets into the equipment for heating and pressure to plasticize.Add inorganic powder for modification treatment.Make Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin(rubber like)test samples.
 
 
  Make Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin into a suitable combustion test sample by molding.
 
  Step 2:Preparation for Combustion
 
 
  Fix the sample on the fixture and prepare to burn it with a propane flame gun.
 
 
  The flame temperature of the propane gun was measured to be around 980℃.
 
 
 
  Start burning the Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin sample with a propane gun.There is a small amount of white smoke during combustion,no black smoke,no melting,and no dripping.
 
 
  After rapid high-temperature combustion by flames,a hard ceramic like shell is formed,and the speed of porcelain formation is fast while the material remains intact.
 
  Step 3:Post combustion analysis
 
 
  (1)Under the burning of flames,Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin can quickly form a hard ceramic shell that does not melt or drip,effectively isolating the damage of high-temperature flames to internal circuits.
 
  (2)The formed ceramic shell is intact,non cracking,and has excellent thermal and oxygen insulation effects.
 
  (3)The smoke generated during the combustion process is extremely low,non-toxic,and has no irritating odor,meeting international environmental standards such as RoHS and REACH directives.
 
  Step 4:Summary
 
  Through this combustion test experiment,the fire resistance,ceramic performance,and environmental characteristics of Ceramifiable LSZH Polyolefin material are of great significance for its application in fields such as wires and cables,fire-resistant materials,etc.Meanwhile,the experimental results can also provide reference for further research and improvement of materials.
