Andi New Materials introduces you to the A,B,and C grades of flame-retardant cables

1、Classification and differences of flame-retardant cables

Flame retardant cable Class ABC is classified according to the GB/T18380-2008 standard, and is used to evaluate the ability of vertically installed bundled wires, cables or optical cables to suppress the vertical spread of flames under specified conditions.

1.Flame retardant Class A refers to:the cable is installed on the test steel ladder so that the non-metallic material contained in the total volume of the test is 7L/m,the fire supply time is 40 minutes, after the cable combustion stops, the sample is wiped dry,and the carbonization range of the sample is measured to be no higher than 2.5m from the bottom of the spray gun

2.Flame retardant Class B refers to:the cable is installed on the test steel ladder so that the non-metallic material contained in the total volume of the test is 3.5L/m,the fire supply time is 40 minutes, after the cable combustion stops, the sample is wiped dry,and the carbonization range of the sample is measured to be no higher than 2.5m from the bottom of the spray gun

3.Flame retardant Class C refers to:the cable is installed on the test steel ladder so that the non-metallic material contained in the total volume of the test is 1.5L/m,and the fire supply time is 20 minutes. After the cable combustion stops, the sample is wiped dry,and the carbonization range of the sample is measured to be no higher than 2.5m above the bottom of the spray gun

2、What grade of flame-retardant cable is it?

As can be seen from the differences among the three types of flame retardants A,B,and C mentioned above,Class A flame retardants have strict conditions,so the order of flame retardant grades is A>B>C.The flame retardant level of A.

  3、Application of flame retardant cables

Flame retardant cables can be used in oil tank areas, important wooden public buildings,high-temperature locations, and other areas with high fire resistance requirements and acceptable installation and economic performance. When self contained oil filled cables are exposed in public corridors, passenger tunnels, bridges, and other areas that require fire prevention treatment, they can be buried in sand for installation.Approaching high voltage current

The cable trench for oil containing equipment such as voltage transformers should have the trench cover sealed. When power cables are laid in pipe bridges or exposed pipes,fire-resistant cables should be selected. When laying in concrete pipes,flame-retardant cables should be selected.Flame retardant cables cannot replace fire-resistant cables, but fire-resistant cables can replace fire-resistant cables. However, considering the cost,it is still better to choose cables with corresponding functions.
